SOLD DescriptionOn the outside the award winning 1925 Luxemotor Lucia has unspoilt origional and beautiful curvacious lines. On the inside, she has been totally refitted during the last three years to a very high standard without detracting from her history and character, she has both luxury and style. She was rebottomed in 06 and all outside paintwork re-finished in 07. Lucia came second in the DBA best barge competition in 2006 and first in 2007 and won best original barge in 2008. She has featured in various publications and we also have the history dating back to her construction and launch on the 17th March 1925 in Stadskanaal, north-east Holland. She is light, spacious and immaculately presented throughout and ideally suited to both cruising and living in luxury and complete comfort.
She has a master bedroom with ensuite bathroom in the bow, the back cabin consists of a twin-bedded room,ensuite shower room and separate loo/cloaks. Super wheelhouse for cruising, eating, sitting and enjoying. State of the art kitchen in its own room and separated from the main living area by a small flight of 4 stairs, Study area, utility and very large living/dining room in the origional cargo hold where at present most of the furnishings are free standing.
There is a machine room and a large, light, clean engine room with work bench.
Lucia also has an original Dutch steel dingy, launched using the original style mast and boom with remote controlled electric hoist.
There are alfresco areas in the bow and also on the back cabin roof. With the exception of personal effects, antiques in the saloon and paintings, Lucia can be made available as a complete sailaway by negotiation.

Engine(s)Factory reconditioned DAF 825 fitted in Holland by Kramers in Zaandam in 1999 together with a new PRM 750 gearbox, new shaft, bearings,etc., and little used apart from a channel crossing and a couple of trips on the Thames until we bought her in 2005. The engine has a Blockland cooler so no raw water filters to choke up! All in a spacious clean and bright engine room with full head room and large work bench. ConstructionBuilt of rivited steel and in the opinion of the shipbuilders Kramer in 1998 "Lucia was built to a very high standard and the ships structure is still in excellent condition". Furthermore they said that with the frame interval at 30 cms instead of the normal 40 - 45 cms she is "one of the strongest built Luxe Motors we have ever seen".
Last out of water survey December 2005 AccommodationDouble cabin in the bow with a 6 foot walk-round bed and built in wardrobes down the port side. Ahead in the old crew quarters is an ensuite bathroom with a fullsize spa bath, basin and an electric macerater loo pumping to the black tank in the machine room.
A doorway from the master cabin leads into the Saloon, a very spacious room furnished, in our case, with antique furniture providing seating and dining and quite a picture gallery!
At the aft end of the saloon, doors lead to, a utility room with storage and laundry equipment and to the machine room.
Also at the aft end of the saloon is the office area, with space for document storage, computer, printer,etc. Next to the office and at the bottom of a short staircase, is a large larder fridge with freezer, surrounded with storage and the chefs bookcase.
The short staircase leads up to the galley, (thats the nautical term), this totally separate room with windows on both sides looking out over the water is a kitchen, make no mistake and a very nice one too! Equipped with, eyelevel electric fan oven with dual grille and warming drawer under, microwave, fully integrated dishwasher, 5 burner gas hob, butlers sink, solid oak work tops, copious storage cupboards including double width pan drawers and a breakfast bar for two.
Heading aft again up another short flight of steps you are in the wheelhouse. This a very traditional space with the original wheel and upgraded to provide a chart table and new seating.
To the left of the aft of the wheelhouse is the staircase down to the stern accomodation. At the bottom of the stairs, to the left is a door to the cloakroom with an electric macerator loo pumping to the black tank and a wash hand basin. Straight on a door opens to the twin bedded guest room with a further door to the ensuite shower room, with shower, wash basin and storage cupboard.
There are beautiful hardwood floors to all the accomodation and central heating with thermostatically controlled radiators to all rooms (even the engine room). The wheelhouse is fitted with stable doors, lovely in the good weather. There is no shiny veneered plywood but there is lots of storage space. Full oil fired central heating with 10 radiators all with thermostatic valves ACV pressure jet boiler also provides domestic hot water. Equipment24 / 230 volt electrics
